LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

Actor Nicolas Cage took time out of his busy filming schedule on Wednesday to take a picture holding a flyer of a local missing teen.

Cage is in Lorain County currently filming his upcoming movie, Dog Eat Dog.

He was approached by Pastor Angel Arroyo to snap a photo with Britton Ramsey, to help spread awareness about the disappearance of his stepdaughter, Alexis Boroviak.

Ramsey is Alexis' mother's boyfriend.

"Nicolas Cage stopped and actually looked at the flyer and he looked at me and he said 'how long has she been gone?' I said 'a week and a half.'  He said 'I'm sorry to hear that,'” Ramsey said.

Alexis vanished Nov. 8 after taking out the family dog. Although police say she had made plans to run away, both sides of the family say Alexis has no reason to disappear on her own.

Cleveland 19 has learned Alexis disappeared with her cell phone and someone checked her voicemail several times over the next few hours. Then nothing.

We have also learned that last May, Alexis lost her 15-year-old boyfriend, Jessie Hayes, who was shot in the face and killed by his cousin.

Jessie's 28-year-old cousin told investigators he didn't know the shotgun was loaded.

Family and friends have organized numerous neighborhood searches to pass out flyers and speak with community members, hoping someone may know something.

Alexis' father, Russell Boroviak, who lives 10 minutes away from where she disappeared, has a message for his daughter.

"We want you to know we are looking for you. We want you back. We don't know what happened. Where ever you are if you can get to phone contact us."

Alexis stands 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 156 pounds. The 15-year-old was last seen wearing lavender pajama pants, a black, hooded sweatshirt, grey Nike shoes and glasses. She may walk with a limp from a past knee injury.

If you have seen Alexis or have any information that could help Brooklyn Police, call (216) 749-1234. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is also helping in the search and can be reached at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678). Calls may be made anonymously.
