MEDINA, OH (WOIO) -

A Medina teenager faces a vandalism charge after police say he shot at a parked U.S. government vehicle.

18-year-old Matthew L. Brown is accused of shooting at the vehicle with a .380 caliber handgun at the Military Recruitment Center on North Court.

Police say Brown ran away from them when they first approached him on Longview Road, jumping several fences during the chase.

Police believe Brown tossed the weapon during the pursuit.

Police are asking neighbors in the areas of Longview Road, Nottingham Drive and Huntington Street to be on the lookout for the discarded firearm on their property.

If you find it, you're asked to call Medina Police at (330) 725-7777.
