CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - On Saturday, The Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan State Spartans will battle on the field, but they will come together and recognize 5-year-old Chad Carr by wearing a decal on their helmets during the game.
Carr was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma in September 2014.
Chad is the grandson of former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr and Hall of Fame safety Tom Curtis, has an inoperable brain tumor and was placed into hospice care last week.
Two of Michigan's biggest rivals will join forces to wear the decal to support the family's ChadTough Foundation, raising money for research to combat pediatric brain cancer.
Last season after the Michigan vs Michigan State game, the band spelled out "ChadTough" on the field. The Carr family celebrated Christmas early for Chad, the Michigan and Ohio State basketball staffs combined to hire a company to decorate the Carr house.
The Buckeyes will see Lloyd's former team next week when the Buckeyes play the Wolverines.
