ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) - The search continues for a missing Brooklyn teen after she vanished earlier this month, but family and friends headed to Elyria after a tip she may have been seen there.
Friends and family spent Friday evening going door to door asking for help.
"We are going to knock on doors and talk to people," Britt Ramsey told the group.
As volunteers searched in Elyria for 15-year-old Alexis Boroviak, one person remained in Brooklyn. Her mother has never left the house since she disappeared.
"She is my right hand. She's always been that since she was a baby," said Alexis' mother, Linda Chalfant.
Chalfant is exhausted looking for clues to her daughter's disappearance.
"I have flipped the kid's room, pulled drawers out to see if things are taped. I have taken the mattress off the bed," said Chalfant.
Alexis walked into their backyard on Nov. 8 to let the dog out and vanished in her pajamas.
Police believe the teen is a runaway, but her mother fears after almost two weeks, it's much worse.
"Why haven't you left the house?" asked reporter Scott Taylor.
"Because if my baby comes home, I want to be here. What if she walks in the door?" responded Chalfant.
