OH fugitive arrested in Michigan

A dangerous fugitive has been taken off the streets. Malcolm Thomas, 27,  was arrested in Michigan after tipsters notified the U.S. Marshals of his location.

Thomas was wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Elyria Police Department for domestic violence and unlawful restraint. He is accused of attacking his girlfriend on Aug. 20, 2015 at an Elyria apartment. Police say he tied her up, assaulted her and repeatedly punched her in the face.

Police say he then attempted to light her on fire using a lighter and a can of hairspray.

Tipsters helped investigators track Thomas as he fled across the country. Investigators narrowly missed Thomas in Georgia in late 2015.  Another tip, received late Wednesday, led to his capture in Flint.
