CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A newborn who came into this world just two days ago is gone. Police suspect the death may have been an accident but are investigating.

Detectives confirm the baby lived in an apartment on Amesbury Rd. off of E. 93rd.

Friday night the tiny baby who didn't get a chance to live,  was pronounced dead after being rushed into the Emergency Room of Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.

"I'm sorry to hear that, very sorry to hear that" said one neighbor who asked not to be identified.

Other residents are reluctant to talk and many are stunned.

As the police investigation moves forward detectives cant release too much information.  However they do admit they don't even have a picture of the beautiful baby.  They're not even sure one was ever taken.

This baby's death is a mystery that has neighbors wishing they could have come to the little girl's rescue.

"That is real upsetting.  Usually this place is pretty quiet" said that same neighbor.

At this point nobody has been charged in this case because police are still investigating and it is up to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner to determine how this baby died.

It could take several days for the autopsy to be completed on a promising life that only had several days to be lived.
