BEACH CITY, OH (WOIO) - On Sunday, around 2:58 a.m. the Beach City Fire department, in Stark County, received a tip that there were two fire bombs in the middle of the road at two different locations.
Authorities say a concerned passerby called police after spotting a suspicious device.
When the Beach City Fire Department arrived at the first location, at OH 93 just before US 250, nothing was found.
However, that wasn't the case at the second location, at OH 212 (Dolphin St) and Johnsford Rd.
The fire department located what was believed to be an explosive device and quickly called in the Summit County Bomb Squad and the Ohio Highway State Patrol (OSHP).
The bomb squad tried to detonate the device but discovered that although it looked very real, it was fake.
After an all clear was given , the roads, which had been closed for hours, opened around 7 a.m.
OSHP reports that there are no suspects at this time and there were no injuries reported.
