HUDSON, OH (WOIO) - Funeral services will be held Thursday for a mother and her two daughters killed in a home explosion.
The bodies of 43-year-olds Jeff and his wife Cindy Mather and their two daughters, 12-year-old Allison and 8-year-old Ruthie were all found in the home Jan. 11.
A Summit County Medical Examiner's statement said that murder-suicide is one of the options being explored, and that a gas can was found near the husband's body in the garage.
The mother was said to be found huddled with her children near the front of the house. Jeff Mather may have also struggled with mental health issues: a report from Metroparks Police states that last month he threatened to end his own life and was stopped after a man called 911.
The funeral for mom and her daughters will be held at Christ Community Chapel in Hudson. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Service to follow at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Heritage Classical Academy, 190 W. Streetsboro St., Hudson, OH 44236 or The Rock Community Church 9403 Garfield Blvd., Garfield Hts., OH 44125.
