Cleveland police officer's family killed in house fire

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Two women killed in a fatal fire on E. 147th Street and Bartlett Avenue on Wednesday were relatives of a Cleveland Police officer.

According to multiple sources, the women were the grandmother and aunt of a Cleveland Police Fourth District officer.

The officer's brother was injured while attempting to rescue family members from the blaze.

Cleveland 19 News is withholding the identity of the officer and his relatives until the City of Cleveland or the Cleveland Fire Department makes a statement.

An 85-year-old man who had been living on the second floor, got out unharmed.
