SEBRING, OH (WOIO) -

As a precaution schools are closed in Sebring in Mahoning County due to possible water contamination.

A water sample test indicates a trace of lead and copper was found in the water.

Water department officials believe this is a testing mistake, but to be safe, they are telling residents to run the water for 30 seconds to two minutes before using.

The Environmental Protection Agency says there can also be a danger to pregnant women and children who are exposed to high levels of lead.

They are running additional tests Friday and will have results this afternoon.
