Bullet travels into home, strikes man in his kitchen

Cleveland Officers were called to a home for a man shot in the 3200 block of W. 54th St., around 3 a.m. on Saturday.

The 19-year-old victim told police that he'd heard gunshots while lying in bed.

He then got out of bed and walked to his kitchen, where he was shot in the wrist.  After he was shot he dropped to the floor and crawled back to his bedroom to call police.

Responding officers treated the victim with their city-issued first aid kit.

He was later transported to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment.

At the time of the shooting there were seven other people inside the home, including a five-month-old girl.  None of them sustained any injuries.

One witness reported that she saw a white Durango in the area at the time of the shooting.

There is no description of the shooter available at this time.

Investigators say that bullet holes were seen on the north side of the house bordering W. 55th Place.

In addition, two vehicles were damaged by the gunfire.

The incident remains under investigation.
