CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Northeast Ohio basketball player stranded on the turnpike with his college team.

The Duquesne Men's Basketball team is stranded on the Pennsylvania turnpike along with about 500 vehicles due to the massive winter storm.

Nick Foschia from Northfield Center plays basketball for Duquesne. The team has been stranded on a bus since Friday night. Foschia says the team is making the most of it.

"Yesterday after the game we had pizza delivered to our bus. We actually just got our first meal about 4:30, 5 o'clock. Today it was a pretty good meal after 24 hours," Foschia said. "It's a great experience we are learning and becoming a close team because of it."

About 8:15 p.m. Saturday, the team posted a "coming home" tweet.

The team was heading home to Pittsburgh after playing George Mason University in Virginia when they came to a standstill.
