AKRON, OH (WOIO) - A Northfield man was sentenced Wednesday for his daughter's death.
Louis Delery pleaded guilty in December to involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of his 4-month old daughter, Addison.
Delery received the maximum sentence of 11 years in prison in an Akron courtroom.
Investigators say Delery was alone with his daughter, Addison, in August of 2014 when he called 9-1-1 and said his daughter had stopped breathing.
During an autopsy the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner discovered the baby had multiple rib fractures.
The investigation found Addison died from a chest compression which caused her to not be able to breathe.
"Louis Delery squeezed the life out of his daughter, Addison. He gave nine different accounts of what happened in August of 2014, but has never taken responsibility for his actions," said Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh. "Addison's mother, grandmother, and family have to deal with this horrible tragedy every day for the rest of their lives."
