WESTLAKE, OH (WOIO) - Several northeast Ohio police departments have their eyes out for women lifting purses at area restaurants.
Westlake Police said an Avon woman was the victim of a pickpocket on the evening of Dec. 18. While she dined at the Yard House in Westlake, her wallet was stolen from her purse.
Her credit card was used that same evening to buy approximately $5,060 worth of items, including $,900 worth at a Game Stop store in North Olmsted.
The photos show a woman making those Game Stop purchases. She was accompanied by a man.
Police said the thefts happen mostly at restaurants then the suspects immediately create a fake out of state license with the suspect's picture and victim's name.
They in turn make immediate purchases totaling in the thousands.
