CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A woman who police say struck a pedestrian with her car and kept going plead not guilty in court Friday.
Brandi Scampitilla, 24, is charged with hit skip and aggravated vehicular assault.
The Cleveland police report reveals the victim, Tina Lowe, 31, was crossing Fulton Road within the crosswalk when a maroon Chrysler LHS traveled from Clark, turned onto Fulton and struck the victim. The driver then pulled into the Marathon gas station and, while hiding behind a dark SUV, observed the scene briefly and then drove away.
Lowe is recovering from her injuries.
Bond for Scampitilla was set at $5,000.
