CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Officers in Mahoning County broke up a cockfighting ring and nabbed a fugitive in the process.
U.S Marshals conducted the raid. While there, police arrested a man who had escaped from custody.
Officials say more than a dozen live birds were found in the home along with a lot of dead ones.
Eighteen birds, several in bad shape, were given to Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary.
It's unclear what charges the person in custody is facing.
