CANTON, OH (WOIO) -

Canton Police officer Ryan Davis received a granite plaque Friday with K9 Jethro's image, badge and flag and his End of Watch date.

K9 Jethro and Officer Davis were responding to an armed robbery at Fishers Foods on Harrison Avenue earlier this month when the K9 was shot three times. Jethro died the next day.

The suspect, Kelontre Barefield, 25, was shot in the leg. He's being held on $5 million bond.

Last weekend, Channel 19 was with Officer Davis when he picked out his new donated K9 partner in Houston.

K9 Tuko's first day will be Monday and we will be there.
