SUMMIT COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

A Summit County jury found Allan Vertucci, 41, of Beechtree Drive in Uniontown, guilty of stealing from an elderly Summit County couple.

Allan Vertucci was a self-employed contractor who owned Allan Vertucci Construction.

Prosecutors say Vertucci was originally hired by the couple to replace the roof and windows of their Copley home. He later was paid to repair the septic tank system, waterproof the home’s basement, and repair other items in the home. The couple paid Vertucci more than $80,000 over two years for the work.

Vertucci did not complete all of the work and investigators found the work he did complete was substandard. He also removed items from the home, including a bathtub and doors.

The Summit County Health Department determined the home’s septic system was a health code violation as a result Vertucci’s substandard work. Inspectors found a puddle containing human waste in the home’s front yard.

Vertucci will be sentenced on March 16.
