North Olmsted Police are investigating after a woman was robbed at gunpoint outside the Great Northern Mall on Wednesday, January 27.
Authorities say it happened at 8:35 p.m., as the victim was leaving.
DISPATCHER: "911. What's your emergency?"
CALLER: "Hi, I'm at Macy's right now. We just had a customer who was just robbed at gun point at our store."
The victim wasn't hurt and shoppers Cleveland 19 News talked to say it won't stop them from going to the mall.
"That has happened in the past. Like when there were things in Parma Town. So people are just aware," said one shopper.
Cleveland 19 asked mall management if Mall Security was increasing their patrols.
So far, no response from Mall Officials but as soon as our news crew showed up they asked us to get off their property.
We asked North Olmsted Police about extra patrols, but so far no response. We will keep asking about extra security for you and for your safety
The suspects involved were two black males, one being lighter skinned and clean shaven was the individual who produced the handgun. He was wearing a grey hooded bubble jacket with dark pants, dark footwear, and a red beanie knit hat with a white number 3 on the right front. The second suspect has a dark complexion with braids. He wore a blue shirt under a red hooded jacket with blue jeans and dark footwear. It appears he is wearing an earring in his right ear.
The suspect's vehicle was described as a small sliver/grey vehicle, possibly a Ford Focus.
In a Cleveland surveillance video the two suspects were seen attempting to use the woman's credit cards shortly after the incident.
Investigators also provided photos of the suspect's vehicle with an identifying plate of FZC9510.
