CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The latest Johnny Manziel run-in with police in Texas over the weekend has been the final straw for many Cleveland Browns fans. Hundreds of fans are now taking a vow of silence until Manziel is off the roster. There's a new movement on twitter, #jff, Johnny-free February.
Longtime Browns fan Chris McNeil says his 8-year-old daughter came up with the idea after hearing about more bad news involving Manziel.
McNeil started #jff and is urging supporters to not tweet or talk about Manziel until the end of February or until he's no longer a Brown.
He has nearly a thousand supporters so far and that number is growing.
New Browns head coach Hue Jackson hasn't said much about Manziel. The earliest the Browns can release Manziel is Feb. 8, the day after the Super Bowl. The earliest the Browns could trade him would be march 9 when the new NFL year begins.
