Police: Man strikes child with crowbar

AKRON, OH (WOIO) - A domestic fight between a boyfriend and girlfriend ended with a 2-year-old transported to the hospital.

Police say a 26-year-old woman on Hamel Street stated her and her boyfriend, Jeremy Hosey, 29, got into a verbal argument after he came home late.

She said the two started fighting and at one point she picked up her two-year-old son to keep him from attacking her.

The woman said she tried leaving the home and her boyfriend followed her and threw a crowbar at her, but missed and struck her 2-year-old son in the face.

The child was transported to Akron Children's Hospital with serious injuries to his face.

Police said Hosey locked himself in the home and they forced their way in and arrested him. The crowbar was found on a neighbor's porch.
