LAKE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) - A patient being transported to Geneva Hospital had a rough ride Wednesday night.
Officials say Madison Fire District 2132 did not have on any lights or sirens when the crew encountered terrible road conditions just east of County Line Road.
According to the driver, he was traveling east on Rt. 20 at 20-25 mph and encountered ruts in the roadway from previous cars going through that caused the rear end of the squad to sway. He over-corrected causing the ambulance to slide sideways into the curb which rolled it over onto its roof.
Both firefighter and medics were taken to the Madison ED, where they were treated and released.
The patient was transported to Geneva by North West Ambulance District for his original call.
OSP is investigating.
