CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A Cleveland mother appeared in court Saturday following the death of her three-year-old daughter, Dashauna Watkins.
Danielle Johnson, 23, pleaded not guilty to the charge of aggravated murder.
Wednesday, Johnson took the toddler to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. Family members told police the child had a seizure disorder and had a seizure that evening. She was later found unresponsive. When officers responded to the hospital they found the child in full arrest. She was pronounced dead.
Cleveland 19 is looking into the background of this address where three-year-old Dashauna lived. We found EMS has been called out nine times since January 2012.
We don't know the nature of those calls at this time but we are asking questions and looking into this.
Johnson's bond was set at $250,000. She'll be back in court on Feb. 23.
