Dems battle for Ohio

ELYRIA, OH (WOIO) - On the same day Chelsea Clinton is in Cleveland stumping for votes for her mother, a volunteer office opens in Elyria for Senator Bernie Sanders.

The office has been made possible by Bernie's supporters and volunteers and is not affiliated with the official Bernie Sanders for President campaign. Instead, this is entirely a grassroots effort, 100% staffed and funded by Bernie's local volunteers and contributors.

The office will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and noon to 4 p.m. on weekends.

There are other offices in Lakewood and Akron.

The Hillary Clinton campaign opened a field office in Lakewood Sunday on the corner of Madison and Hilliard.

Chelsea Clinton is at the Murtis-Taylor Community Center on Kinsman Road in Cleveland. The event is sold-out.

Ohio is of huge importance to candidates. The saying usually goes "win Ohio, win the White House." Ohio is the only state that has voted for the winning president in the last 13 presidential elections.
