CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Widespread power outages were reported Tuesday morning in several west-side suburbs.

FirstEnergy spokesman Mark Durbin says the outages, which are affecting thousands of customers, appear to be weather-related.

Crews are currently working to restore power to neighborhoods in Lakewood, Rocky River and Bay Village.

The widespread outage also caused Westlake City Schools to close Tuesday, Feb. 16.

School officials say those students who have been picked up by buses will be transported to their buildings. They are asking that parents pick up their children up at their school buildings.

If you are unable to pick up your child, please contact your child's school office.

Check back later for an update.
