NORTH ROYALTON, OHIO (WOIO) -

In Parma Municipal Court, the 25-year-old man accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Thursday.

Jeff Greiner faces a murder charge for allegedly shooting 19-year-old Christal Shaver at his condo on Cove Drive on Tuesday. Police say Greiner then called 911.

Shaver was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Greiner's bond was set at $250,000 in court.

While no motive has been released, Greiner's public defender says this was an accident.

Mother Phyllis Shaver says her daughter was well loved by her friends, family and their church. She says she leaves behind a legacy that her killer will never take away and hopes justice will be served.

In the meantime, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for funeral expenses. Donations will also be accepted at the Pathway Church located at 21211 Drake Road in Strongsville.
