CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Iman Shumpert played 26 minutes in the win over the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, but by game's end, had tweaked his left shoulder again, and was forced to sit out practice on Friday. The Cavaliers confirmed to Cleveland 19 News that it was a shoulder sprain.
Officially, they list Shumpert as day-to-day, but it's a concern because this is the same shoulder that Shumpert separated while still with the New York Knicks last season. He was out for six weeks, before resuming his season with the Cavaliers.
Shumpert may have injured the shoulder while stealing the ball from Bulls forward Doug McDermott.
The Cavaliers return to action Sunday afternoon in Oklahoma City. Channing Frye, who came over in a trade for Andy Varejao on Thursday afternoon, is expected to make his Cavs debut.
