Police got a call around 4:00 A.M. from a waste service truck driver, who found a body in the back of his service truck.
Fairlawn Chief of Police, Kenneth A. Walsh released the following statement:
On Saturday, February 20, 2016 at approximately 4:00am, Fairlawn Police Department received a telephone call from a Republic Waste Services truck driver while he stopped along his morning route at a commercial building located at 2855 W. Market St. Fairlawn, Ohio. The driver stated that he believed that there was a body in the back of his truck. The truck's morning route encompassed pick-ups from three different jurisdictions. Fairlawn Police Detectives are working in conjunction with Summit Court Coroner's Office and detectives from the Akron and Copley Police Department until determination of proper jurisdiction can be determined. The Identity of the deceased cannot be released at this time pending proper notification of next of kin.
