NEWBURGH HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - The chief bailiff at Shaker Heights Municipal Court was arrested for drunken driving in Newburgh Heights.
Police say Jerome Sheppard, 43, was pulled over around 1:15 a.m. Saturday for driving 77 mph in a 60 mph zone.
Once stopped, the officer smelled alcohol and saw a suspected open container.
Sheppard, who showed his court badge during the traffic stop, refused to take the breathalyzer tests.
He was charged with OVI, speeding and possession of open container.
His license was also suspended. He is expected in court Wednesday.
