CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland Leadership Center's Accelerate 2016 is Wednesday.
It's a civic pitch competition that rewards individuals, not organizations, who pitch innovative ideas to enhance Northeast Ohio and accelerate its momentum.
Dozens submit ideas, but only the best make it into the top 25 and present to a crowd of hundreds.
Everyone in attendance gets to vote on the winner.
They call themselves civic entrepreneurs and their goal is not to make money for themselves, but more to enrich and empower.
What is so unique about Accelerate 2016 is that it creates an opportunity for any person in the community to share an idea in a room full of leaders and community members with the ability to help foster the idea into fruition.
The top prize is a $5,000 check and all the connections one would need.
Accelerate 2016 is Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Global Center for Health Innovation
Presenters have already been chosen, but everyone is invited to attend, vote and network.
