CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cleveland Police Union has voted to deduct $20 from each officer's paycheck, $15 from non-sworn members like dispatchers and bailiffs, to help the six officers fired after the deadly chase and shooting from 2012.
591 union members cast votes on Feb. 19.
374 voted for the measure and 217 voted against it.
The money will be deducted from paychecks from March 2016 through December 2016 when the issue will be revisited.
This will raise $25,300 monthly to be split among the fired cops, along with monies already raised by a GoFundMe and other donations.
