Police: Grandma, grandson involved in hit & run

LORAIN, OH (WOIO) - The Lorain Police Department is investigating an hit/skip accident involving a grandmother and her grandson.

The accident happened on February 23 at 4:06 p.m. at the intersection of E. 41st Street and Palm Avenue.

The vehicle involved is described as an older model red Dodge Neon or something similar. Witnesses say the driver was a younger Hispanic male with a beard.

Police say the Dodge Neon ran a stop sign and struck a Buick Century in the intersection. The Buick Century lost control, ran off the road, struck a utility pole guide wire, and came to final rest in the front yard of 2416 E. 41st Street.

The Dodge Neon fled the scene traveling westbound on E. 41st Street, and should have front end damage.

An 85-year-old driver and her 16-year-old grandson were victims in this crash. They were not injured.
