GOODYEAR, AZ (WOIO) - One thing the Indians have consistently struggled with is playing well out of the gate. The team routinely struggles in April and in the first half in general. They need to play better out of the gate in 2016.
Last season, they did turn it around and finished with an 81-80 record.
"I do think that we have managed to when we got into...whether you call it the grind of the season, or the rhythm, we've done OK. But it's taken us too long to get there."
The Tribe has posted winning records the last three seasons, but have yet to get off to a great start. A 13-11 April in 2013 is their best start under Terry Francona; they finished that season with 93 wins and a playoff spot. A 10-game winning streak to end the season is what put them over the top.
