2 Willowick police officers recognized for their heroism in fire

WILLOWICK, OH (WOIO) -

City Council issued resolutions to Sgt. Robert and Ptl. Christopher Olup for their bravery when they entered a burning home to rescue a man. 

"We are so proud of these two brave officers and their service to the City of Willowick,"according to Willowick Police.  

Sgt. Robert Prochazka & Ptl. Christopher Olup raced into a burning home on Lakeshore and rescued a disabled man. The officers, the man and a woman from the home were treated and released at the hospital for smoke inhalation.

The fire was caused by old clothing placed too close to a furnace or water heater.
