School board president's son brings BB gun to school

WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) - The Warrensville school board president admitted her son took a BB gun to school and broke a car window in the parking lot.

The board president, Mimi Gaiter, issued a statement about the incident, calling it "stupid" and "immature."

Gaiter said the issue will be handled according to board policy.

Good evening,

As a parent, I am angry, frustrated and embarrassed that my son would make such a foolish mistake by bringing a BB gun into the school parking lot and breaking a car window.  He immediately reported the incident to his teacher and the Assistant Principal at the high school.  He has been fully cooperative with the the Warrensville Heights Police, District Security and High School Administrators.

He knows it was stupid and immature and we will deal with this as a family and move forward.

As School Board President, let me assure you this matter will be handled according to our established code of conduct and according to Board Policy.
