Man accused in abduction hit with 8 charges in Pennsylvania

Authorities say a man kidnapped his ex-girlfriend in Oakwood Village, then broke into a randomly chosen home in Erie, Pa., and critically injured a homeowner before he was shot.

Kyle Johnson, 25, of Warrensville Heights, is facing eight charges in Pennsylvania including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, burglary and terrorist threats. He's being held in Erie on $500,000 bond.

According to the criminal complaint, Johnson entered the Erie home and attacked the residents inside. He used a crowbar to pry open the door and hit the female resident, 58, in the head 4-6 times with the crowbar. He also took a box cutter and stabbed both her and her husband, 51, when he tried to help.

Police say Johnson kidnapped a 23-year-old Monday and put her in the trunk of his car before driving to Erie to an upscale neighborhood.

The female homeowner remains in critical condition.

Police say a neighbor heard cries for help and shot Johnson.
