AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

The man convicted in the robbery and killings of three Barberton residents on New Years Eve 2013 should be in jail for the rest of his life, a jury of his peers recommended Thursday.

Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced that the jury in his trial has recommended life without parole for Eric Hendon for the murders of John Kohler, Ashley Carpenter and David Carpenter-Kohler.

Earlier this month, the same jury found Hendon, 33, guilty of five counts of aggravated murder, one count of attempted murder, five counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of felonious assault.

Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Amy Corrigall Jones is scheduled to officially sentence Hendon on May 4 at 1:30 p.m.
