KENT, OH (WOIO) - A car had to be lifted in the Cuyahoga River on Friday afternoon in Kent.
A female driver was in the parking lot of Riverside Wine and Imports when she drove into the river around 3 p.m., according to a report from Kent State student media outlet KentWired. She was the lone occupant, according to Kent Fire Chief John Tosko.
The driver escaped the overturned vehicle and stood on top of it while she waited for help to arrive. She was transported to Akron City Hospital.
Emergency crews later lifted the car out of the river. An officer said alcohol was suspected in the incident.
