Female homeowner dies after attack related to abduction of Oakwood Village woman

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A woman has died after sustaining injuries related to the abduction of an Oakwood Village woman.

On Tuesday, April 19, Erie, Pennsylvania Police says that Kyle Johnson broke into a random home and attacked the woman living there.  When her husband returned home Johnson attacked him as well.

Both were transported to the hospital but the woman suffered life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, April 23, Erie Police confirmed that she succumbed to those injuries.

The couple owns a bar and restaurant in Erie called the Sandbar. 

The day of the attack Johnson was shot by the homeowners' neighbor, arrested and remains in an Erie, PA jail. 

Police said Johnson kidnapped his ex-girlfriend from her mother's home on Monday in Oakwood Village then set fire to the house. 

She was also beaten and found in the basement of the Erie home.
