CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Quarterback Johnny Manziel was indicted Friday. Officials will make the announcement Monday at a news conference.
CBS affiliate, KRLD Radio confirmed the indictment with the District Attorney's office in Dallas County Sunday evening.
Manziel was indicted on a misdemeanor charge of assault with bodily injury.
The 23-year-old former Cleveland Browns quarterback is accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley in her ear so hard that she lost her hearing.
The incident allegedly happened during a fight in late January at the ZaZa Hotel in Dallas.
He could get up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
Manziel was cut by the Browns last month.
