Fugitive of the Week accused in brutal beating

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Fugitive Jose 'Tito' Cortes Jr. is on the run and police are looking for him.

Cortes Jr. is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Independence Police Department for felonious assault.

Police say he beat a woman in the early hours of April 5. In addition to beating her, he also allegedly burned her in numerous places with a hot iron. The trauma was so extensive that medical treatment was required.

Cortes, 26, is a white male, 5'11" and weighs 190 lbs. He has brown eyes and brown hair. Cortes is believed to be hiding on the west side of Cleveland.  Cortes should be considered armed and dangerous.
