CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Quarterback Johnny Manziel was indicted Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.

A Texas grand jury indicted ex-Cleveland Browns quarterback on an assault charge after his ex-girlfriend accused him of domestic violence.

The 23-year-old is accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley in her ear so hard that she lost her hearing.

The incident allegedly happened during a fight in late January at the ZaZa Hotel in Dallas.

He could get up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.

Manziel was cut by the Browns last month.
