AVON, OH (WOIO) - The mayor of Avon sent out a warning to residents about a recent phone scam.
Four people in Avon received phone calls that appeared to be coming from City Hall, but they were just scammers, according to Mayor Bryan Jensen.
Thieves claimed to be city employees, asked for credit card information. The mayor said no one from the city will ever call to ask for your personal information.
Residents can call Avon City Hall to confirm if a call is legitimate or not at 440-937-7800.
