WESTLAKE, OH (WOIO) - A man is suspected of robbing three banks in the Cleveland area since March.
The so-called "BDL Bandit" has committed three armed bank robberies in Westlake, Warrensville Heights and Cleveland Heights, according to Cleveland FBI Violent Crime Task Force.
The robberies began on March 24 at the PNC Bank in Westlake, authorities said.
The thief would walk to and from the bank on foot and parked his getaway vehicle in the break-down lane on the highway, each time on the eastbound side of Route 480.
In all three bank robberies, The "BDL Bandit" covered his face with sunglasses/bandana, was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun and was wearing gloves and a hoodie.
He demanded large bills, no bait and no dye packs.
The BDL Bandit is described as a black male, 6'03" tall, slender build and middle aged. He has robbed the following banks:
1. PNC Bank, 25350 Detroit Rd, Westlake, OH at 11:04 a.m.
2. First Merit Bank, 4834 Richmond Rd, Warrensville Heights, OH at 9:57 a.m.
3. US Bank, 2132 Brookpark Rd, Cleveland, OH at 9:31 a.m.
