CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - A group of teenagers found a woman's body in an abandoned house, as they were walking home Saturday afternoon.

It happened around 2 p.m. at 3789 E. 143rd Street. According to police, the victim was 20 years old and her body showed signs of trauma.

Councilman Zach Reed spoke to the teens who found the body and he says this points to a larger issue in Cleveland.

"Cutting through a short cut to get to the other street they look into the house and they see a dead body and that's traumatizing for them which makes it traumatizing for the neighborhood and this is getting serious. This now takes us to 30 homicides in the city of Cleveland," said Councilman Reed.

This discovery marks the second body police have found this week but so far, they are not saying the cases are related.

The victim's name and cause of death has not been released.
