Lakewood Police search for suspect in Saturday night stabbing

LAKEWOOD, OH (WOIO) - A man was stabbed in the neck Saturday night and Lakewood Police say the suspect is still on the loose.

Dispatch received a call at 11:42 p.m. on April 30, for a man stabbed in the throat in front of Flying Rib Tavern at 11926 Madison Ave.

The city's fire department also responded to the scene, where they found the victim, 43-year-old Dick T. Spence, with a wound on the left side of his neck.

He was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment.

Police have identified the suspect as 55-year-old Shawn E. Sims, of Lakewood.

A warrant for felonious assault has been issued for Sim's arrest.

Authorities ask anyone with information about Sim's whereabouts to contact the Lakewood Police Department at 216-521-6773.

According to police, Sims should be considered armed and dangerous.

The investigation is on-going.
