CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Cleveland 19 crews were on the scene last night on Cleveland's east side where witnesses say a driver plowed into people on the sidewalk.
At the scene one witness told us just what he saw. "That's a Honda Civic. It turned out, into the truck and the truck kind of ricocheted and did a 360. It hit six people and ended up landing on somebody. It was crazy."
Witnesses tell us the six people were hit in front of a barbershop and barbecue at E. 114th and Superior, with one of them suffering a serious leg injury.
Steve Valentine, Tanesha Hodge and Mark Pannell were the injured pedestrians. The 58-year-old Valentine suffered a skull fracture, a broken leg and ribs. Hodge, 30, suffered a broken leg and soft tissue injuries. Pannell, 57, suffered a broken ankle.
Inside the Honda Accord were driver Tylia Jackson, 21, and passengers Bruce Eddings, 22, and two minors, ages 2 and 16. Jackson, Eddings and the 16-year-old female complained of back pain.
42-year-old Clifton Clark was the driver of the truck, a Ford Explorer, and was not injured.
