$250,000 bond for man who attacked officer, teen

AURORA, OH (WOIO) - A 26-year-old Summit County man accused of assaulting an Aurora police officer and a teenager is locked up on $250,000 bond.

Brandon Bayless plead not guilty to assault during Monday's court hearing.

Bayless, who appeared in court without an attorney, is accused of attacking the officer with a tire iron and hitting a teen who lived near him in the head with a glass mug.

It happened on Sunday, April 30, at Michigan Street and East Avenue.

According to the police report the officer fired his gun, but Bayless, was not hit.

The officer was not seriously injured. His name has not been released.
