GREEN, OH (WOIO) - A 16-year-old's mother and three others have been indicted in his death.
Andrew Frye was found dead April 6 at the Super 8 motel in Green. The Summit County Medical Examiner determined he did from injecting heroin.
Andrew was in the hotel room with his mother, Heather Frye, her girlfriend Jessica Irons and his grandmother, Brenda Frye.
Heather Frye, 31, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, child endangering and tampering with evidence. Brenda Frye was charged with involuntary manslaughter and trafficking heroin.
Jessica Irons is charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, tampering with evidence, possession of heroin and contributing to the unruliness of delinquency of a child.
Donald Callaghan is charge with possession of heroin. Deputies discovered Callaghan was Brenda Frye's boyfriend and the heroin Andrew used was from him.
Involuntary manslaughter is a first degree felony, punishable by up to 11 years in prison. Since 2013, Summit County has prosecuted 29 cases of involuntary manslaughter connected to heroin overdose cases.
