WOOSTER, OH (WOIO) -

The Wooster Ohio Police Department is investigating the theft of collector coins and money totaling $100,000.

It happened that occurred on Sunday May 1.

The items were taken from a vehicle after someone smashed out a window.

Police say six suspects appear to have been involved in casing the coin show, and ultimately the theft, as vendors were packing up to leave.

They believe four women created a disturbance in order to draw attention away from the victims’ vehicle.

They were driving a 2009 Black Mazda sedan with Pennsylvania plate JJS 5785.

One of the women was identified by a Colombian Identification card as Marisol Garcia Celis, 45.

The two men that committed the actual theft are identified as white males driving a Chrysler mini-van, black in color, with a silver metal strip on the side and a luggage rack. The plate is unknown.

It is believed these suspects are out of the Pennsylvania or New York area and are targeting coin shows throughout the United States.

If anyone has any information contact Lt. Bolek at 330 287-5730.
